As I had planned the year before, I returned in April 2015 to run again around the historic battlefield near Isaszeg. But this time, something unexpected and truly special happened.

To my surprise, I had the chance to run around the city with someone who plays a role in the animated battle reconstruction event — and who also happens to be a local resident. His name is István Verhás, and I’m incredibly grateful to him for guiding me through the area and sharing stories and insights from a local’s perspective.

Running with István made the experience even more meaningful. It wasn’t just a run — it became a journey through time, enriched by the personal connection and his deep knowledge of the area.
